Many thanks for the UK update, reports now work really well, however when I view a report there is no ajax progress bar which I would normally get from refreshing a report through RS.  Is this correct?  I would expect to see a progress bar.

This is actually an issue with DNN. The control does not produce this behavior by itself, but as soon as you wrap it in DNN, it dissappears. I was hoping that the latest release of DNN would fix this problem, but it still exists. We have not found a workaround for this caveat yet nor can we point to the lines of code within DNN that prevent the progress from showing.

I take that point on board, however one of the other SSRS modules I have tested does have an animation when the report is returning data.  I accept this is not the SSRS anmimation, however any animation would do to give the end user an idea that the report is being processed.

RSReports - Free Trial Version 1.08.09 Beta

Your module is superior though with its overall integration with DNN.

This is very interesting, we will check this out and see how this limitation has been overcome!

we checked out this module and it is a nice module, but it is on a different playing field. They are using a different method for rendering the reports, and they have added a custom progress bar which is how you see one there. We were unable to display any images in reports in our testing, but it may be something isolated to our environment.

We will certainly continue looking to see if there is anything we can leverage to provide the same effect. Their module is architected very differently from ours, so I'd recommend toying with both and seeing which one meets your needs best! We stand 100% behind ours and have continued features that we will continue to bundle in the module as we have been for the past releases! I'd also plug our support, it is one of the best in the DNN arena.

I totally accept all of your points and agree the support you have shown so far has been excellent, especially given my experience with other 3rd party module developers!  One final point and excuse me if this is obvious.  DNN 4.5.3 supports partial rendering and will display and Ajax control, is this something you have investigated?  Just a thought.  Thanks for all your help so far.

Yeah, we have thought about the AJAX capabilities and what they may add, but it is something we have not yet experimented with...we can try wrapping it in an AJAX control and see what happens.
