SQL Reporting Server 2005, RS2005 version 01.05.00

After looking at hte documentation I cannot get the module to successfully pass a parameter to the  The sql reprot server is a separaqte computer form the IIS machine.  I cannot figure out how to properly format the url or even where to put the url.  Putitng the added parameter in the url for the reprot server url box causes the error 'Client found response content type of "' but expected 'text/html'.  The request failed with an empty response.

To begin with you have to know what your report parameter names are. If you know the parameter name and the URL of the page you are looking at where the reporting module lives, you can figure out how the URL should look. If you show us a link to the URL where the module is and what a parameter name is, we can show you what the rewritten URL would look like.

Thank you.

Report parameter is noteid.  url to the module is http://www.elementsportal.org/cfr/DrJeffsPage/tabid/82/Default.aspx.

Looking at the included documentation I see the example url http://server/dnn/page/tabid/54/Default.aspx?Parameter1=11/14/2006&Parameter2=11/20/2006&ParameterBar=False but I don't understand how the module gets the name of the ssrs server from this url.  I would really like to understand how this module works because if we get this to function as needed it will be a module we purchase for many of our clients for our web based case management software module built upon dnn in Listx.

The version 2.0 of the module has a section for setting up report servers, you set them up there and then when you put an instance of this module on the page, you go and specify the particular report server that will be used by that module, it is not something fed in from the URL. You also will choose in the module settings, which report to run on that server (or you can specify a report folder to display reports from). If you want to pass parameters down via the URL, you need to specify which report to run in the module settings. You then should be able to pass in the value of your particular parameter for that report by going to this page, in your case, it may look something like this:

http://www.elementsportal.org/cfr/DrJeffsPage/tabid/82/Default.aspx?noteid=somevalue

Hope that helps!

It was very helpful.
The piece that was missins for me was trying to figure out how to add the url to the page wiht the parameter into the RS2005 module. Once it dawned on me that you must create a link external to the rs2005 module that passes the parameter into the rs2005 module the solution became clear.

Thanks.
